Queen Charlotte's Ball
By 1780, this tradition was firmly established. King George III’s May Ball was created to raise funds for a maternity hospital named after Queen Charlotte. This event evolved into the renowned Queen Charlotte’s Ball.

The origins of The London Season date back to the late 18th century, when Britain’s elite would return to London after the hunting season to attend a vibrant calendar of balls, parties, and social events that defined high society.

A New Chapter
Queen Elizabeth II ended formal court presentations, but the spirit of The London Season endured through the determined efforts of Lady Howard de Walden and Peter Townend.
