A Timeless Tradition
The Berkeley Dress Show is one of the most cherished events in The London Season calendar. Held on the afternoon before Queen Charlotte’s Ball, this exclusive event sees debutantes model exquisite couture gowns in the most glamorous surroundings London has to offer.
From the chandeliered Edwardian ballroom of the Taj Hotel, Buckingham Gate, to the royal dining rooms of William Kent House at The Ritz, the Dress Show has graced some of Britain’s most prestigious venues. Gowns are lent by Royal Warrant Holders and personal couturiers to the Royal family, whilst debutantes model hats by Her Majesty’s milliners.
Each Dress Show is accompanied by a champagne reception and lavish silver service tea, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance that perfectly sets the stage for the grandeur of Queen Charlotte’s Ball the following evening.

This year the Berkeley Dress Show took place in the magnificent chandeliered Edwardian ballroom of the glamorous five star Taj Hotel, Buckingham Gate, with a champagne reception, lavish jasmine silver service tea and the Dress Show with gowns lent by Royal Warrant Holder and personal Couturier to the Royal family, Mr Stewart Parvin.
The debutantes modelled the glorious gowns prior to the Ball at One Whitehall Place on Saturday, 31st August, making this a truly unforgettable start to one of the most prestigious weekends in the London Season calendar.

The London Season was delighted to welcome His Highness Prince Aly Aga Khan and Patrons Lord and Lady Fermoy, Sir David Roche Bt. and eminent guests and debutantes to The Berkeley Dress Show on 4th September, as the first event of 2020.
Following the disappointment of the inevitable cancellation of Queen Charlotte’s Ball due to Covid restrictions, it was a huge pleasure to reunite in the glamorous and very spoiling surroundings of William Kent House at the Ritz with a delicious champagne formal tea and traditional hat Show orchestrated by the inimitable Sarah Marshall at Her Majesty’s Milliner John Boyd Hats, Knightsbridge.
